About this product

Division: Mitek Sports Medicine
Category: Graft Preparation

The SPEEDTRAP™ Graft Preparation System is a whipstitch suture delivery device created to simplify soft-tissue graft preparation. The SPEEDTRAP System is designed to apply uniform, consistent whipstitches to the graft faster and easier than traditional techniques. The needleless application helps minimize the risk for needle stick injuries to the surgeon and operating room staff while the suture maintains the strength required to meet clinical conditions. The even distribution and uniform pattern of whipstitches enables tubularization of the graft for easy passage through the tunnel. This high strength suture construct is offered pre-loaded on a sterile, single-use delivery device.

• Reduces graft preparation time by at least 77% vs standard techniques1
• High strength suture for graft tensioning
• Consistently provides a reliable, uniform suture fixation for soft tissue grafts
• Eliminates suture piercing and associated graft damage

Features & Benefits

Features Benefits
High strength “winding” suture anchored to flat “spine” suture
  • Even distribution and uniform pattern of whipstitches.
  • Tubularizes graft to easily pass through tunnels.
  • Compresses the graft rather than pierces through it, preventing damage to the graft

Sterile, disposable delivery device

  • Easily deploys whipstitches on the graft with a simple pull of the suture tails.
  • Minimizes graft preparation time by 77%1 compared to traditional whipstitching techniques, may reduce overall OR time, anesthesia and tourniquet time.

Needleless delivery system

  • Minimizes risk of graft damage. Needle/suture holes have been shown to weaken the graft.2
  • The needleless application does not introduce the risk of needle prick injuries.

Strong suture construct

  • Designed to maintain the strength required to meet clinical conditions during tensioning and cyclic loading
  • Suture compresses graft, does not lacerate it.
