DePuy Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgeons: A History of Innovation

The development of orthopaedic implants and surgical techniques, which have helped millions of people relieve their pain and restore their mobility, would not have been possible without the contributions of orthopaedic surgeons. These surgeons not only perform life-changing procedures, they help companies develop and design new products, they conduct scientific and clinical research, they provide education and training and they help others in the orthopaedic community deliver the best care possible to patients all over the world.

Since its inception, DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction has worked with key thought leaders to develop innovative products such as the P.F.C.® Sigma™ Knee, the leading knee replacement system that has been implanted in nearly two million patients all over the world. Leading surgeons also contributed to the design of other key products, including DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction’s exclusive P.F.C.® Sigma™ and LCS® Rotating Platform Knees, the AML® and Summit® Hip Systems and the Pinnacle® Acetabular Cup System. We also work with surgeons to develop leading educational and training materials.
