The LCP™ Posterior Medial Proximal Tibial Plate 3.5 is an implant contoured to fit the posteromedial aspect of the proximal tibia and offer fixed angle screw trajectories that cross a coronal fracture line. Locking screw options are available in three positions proximally. An elongated, slotted combination hole is located in the neck of the plate and as the first shaft hole. Standard combination holes are in the shaft. The Titanium Trochanteric Fixation Nail (TFN) System permits an intramedullary approach for the fixation of fractures of the femur. The TFN System consists of a series of cannulated nails, cannulated helical blades, cannulated femoral neck screws, cannulated end caps, and locking bolts and screws. All of the implants in the TFN System are made of titanium alloy.
The helical blade provides improved resistance to varus collapse and rotational control of the medial fracture segment compared to single screw fixation (i.e., lag screws). The result is superior life-to-cut-out versus single screw fixation. This is accomplished through the use of the 11.0 mm helical blade. In addition, the use of the 11.0 mm helical blade results in reduced bone removal versus use of a traditional hip screw. These helical blade features are especially advantageous in osteoporotic fracture fixation. However the TFN system also offers a lag screw fixation using an 11.0 mm femoral neck screw.

The proximal portion of the plate is precontoured for the proximal femur. The two proximal screw holes are designed for 7.3 mm cannulated locking screws and the third locking hole is designed for 5.0 mm cannulated locking screws. The hole for 5.0 mm locking screws is angled so the screw trajectory converges with the proximal 7.3 mm screw. Improved proximal femoral fixation in osteopenic bone is achieved by the screw angulation and the locking interface with the plate. The remaining screw holes in the plate shaft are combi-holes. The VA-LCP Condylar Plate 4.5/5.0 system has many similarities to standard locking fixation methods, with a few important improvements.
