HEALIX ADVANCE™ is built upon the historical performance of the HEALIX Anchor™ and dual thread technology. The multi-thread design enhances speed and ease of use for faster anchor advancement into the bone and awl only bone preparation with most bone qualities. Hip in a Box model
Hip in a Box model
The hip in a box model is an educational unit developed as a tool for those new to hip arthroscopy to practice initial entry into the hip joint.  It contains a replacement joint and skin component.  1-1.5 cm of distraction can be obtain with this model as well as up to +- 30° of rotation. The bones are radio-opaque and thus, the model can be used with a c-arm to simulate an actual hip arthroscopy.

HEALIX BR™ Lasso Loop Biceps Tenodesis

The HEALIX BR™ Lasso Loop Biceps Tenodesis Technique enables arthoscopic tenodesis of the Biceps Tendon. Double loaded suture allows the surgeon to create a horizontally oriented stitch and a vertically oriented lasso-loop stitch. The horizontal stitch is tied and the lasso-loop stitch is tied over it creating a cruciform orientation. The horizontal suture provides back-up fixation and the vertically oriented lasso-loop stitch offers radial compression force and grip of the tendon. This technique offers fixation and allows the tendon to be tied directly to the bone surface prior to tendon resection. This allows the length-tension relationship of the biceps to be maintained.

  1. provide strong, rigid fixation with the use of two absorbable cross pins (PLA and Biocryl)
  2. offer 360° of graft-to-bone contact with added compression from the cross pins to promote bony ingrowth

Procedures

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Reconstruction

Arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is a surgical procedure which replaces the injured or torn ligament within the knee joint using a graft that is anchored to femur and tibia.  Mitek Sports Medicine offers a variety of instruments and implants that enable soft-tissue or bone-tendon-bone graft ACL reconstructions.

Instability
Instability

Shoulder instability occurs when the articulating surface of the humeral head is forced out of the shoulder socket. This can happen as a result of overuse or a sudden injury.  The result of subluxing or dislocating causes acute or chronic tears of the glenoid labrum and can cause the ligaments making up the shoulder capsule to become loose and unstable.  Surgical intervention includes capsular plication and or ligament repair of the surrounding structures ultimately tightening the stabilizing the shoulder joint.

The HEALIX Family of Anchors provides excellent fixation for biceps tenodesis.  In this technique, a lasso loop stitch is employed.  One suture is passed horizontally around the tendon and tied.  A second suture is used to create a vertically oriented lasso loop stitch around the horizontally oriented suture.  The lasso loop stitch has been shown to offer excellent tendon grip strength due to the constricting force provided by the loop.   In addition, the horizontally oriented suture acts as a secondary mechanical block.1,2

Femoroacetabular Impingement

Femoroacetabular impingement or FAI is a condition in which the femoral head, acetabulum, or both are shaped somewhat abnormally. Simply, the ball and socket do not fit perfectly, causing friction during hip movements, resulting in damage within the hip joint. The damage can occur to the articular cartilage (smooth white surface of the ball or socket) or the labral cartilage (soft tissue bumper that surrounds the socket).

Impingement can occur as a result of femoral sided impingement (Cam impingement), acetabular rim impingement (pincer impingement), or a combination of both which is the case in the majority of patients.1

Meniscal Repair
Meniscal Repair

Meniscal tears are among the most common knee injuries.  The risk of injuring the meniscus is particularly high for athletes, especially those who participate in contact sports, such as football, or activities that involve pivoting, such as tennis or basketball. However, anyone at any age can tear a meniscus.

An arthroscopic meniscal repair procedure involves suturing the torn meniscus together with suture and/or anchors or excising it depending on the size, type and location of the tear (bucket handle, flap, horizontal, longitudinal, radial, or degenerative).
