Bone Access Needle Biopsy Needle

The Bone Access Needle is utilized in procedures where access to bone is required. It can be used for bone marrow aspiration or provide access for guide wires, pedicle screws or therapeutic materials like bone cement. The needle comes in a pack of one.

Useful features include color coded handles, a wide range of sizes, lengths and geometries, and the opportunity to do intraoperative biopsies without the need of a second access1.

chronOS™ Inject Bone Void Filler
chronOS™ Inject Bone Void Filler

chronOS™ Inject Bone Void Filler is a synthetic, osteoconductive calcium phosphate bone substitute. The material is injectable, osteoconductive, and resorbable. Irregular bone defects can be completely filled with chronOS Inject Bone Void Filler using a minimally invasive technique. chronOS Inject Bone Void Filler hardens without an exothermal reaction. The hardening process also proceeds in a humid environment. chronOS Inject Bone Void Filler is remodeled into host bone within 6 to 18 months.

chronOS™ Strip System
chronOS™ Strip System

chronOS™ Strip System is a synthetic, porous, resorbable and biocompatible bone void filler made from chronOS Granules with a defined, uniform pore structure imbedded in a matrix of poly(lactide-co-ε-caprolactone). The flexible composite provides contourability and malleability of the device to the bony implant site. The combination of chronOS Strip System with bone marrow by means of Bone Marrow Aspirate System (BMAS) accelerates and enhances osteointegration and is a valuable alternative to autologous or allogenic bone graft material.

chronOS Strip precast is a line extension of chronOS Strip System optimized for easy compatibility with posterior fixation systems. It eliminates the need to cut the strip intraoperatively.

RAPIDSORB™ Fixation System
RAPIDSORB™ Fixation System

RAPIDSORB™ Fixation System is a resorbable fixation system, which was developed for fracture stabilization and craniofacial reconstruction. By using a resorbable material, maintaining from poly (L-lactide-co-glycolide), it presents an attractive alternative to remaining metal implants.
Implants are available as plates, foils, meshes, screws and tacks. They resorb approximately within 1 year by hydrolysis and are metabolized by the body.

SynPOR™ Smooth System
SynPOR™ Smooth System

SynPOR™ Smooth System is a synthetic, non-resorbable, porous implant material, intended for the augmentation and reconstruction of the craniofacial skeleton. SynPOR implants are made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, featuring a network of open and interconnecting pores. The implant’s porous structure promotes tissue ingrowth and results in rapid integration and stabilization.

The SynPOR product portfolio comprises sheets and orbital floor plates as well as designs with incorporated titanium mesh for increased strength and contour retention. SynPOR Smooth implants, with a smooth superior surface, minimize tissue adhesion and allow for a superior motility of the globe.

NORIAN™ Reinforced System
NORIAN™ Reinforced System

NORIAN™ Reinforced Fast Set Putty is a moldable, biocompatible bone void filler with added reinforcing fibers and a sodium hyaluronate based solution. Due to its special composition, the reinforced cement resists against cracking during the setting process and shows excellent handling properties.

TRAUMACEM™ V+
TRAUMACEM™ V+

TRAUMACEM™ V+ is a highly viscous PMMA cement. Its special composition allows immediate use after mixing, provides a long working time at room temperature and is highly radio-opaque for optimal visual control during application.

VERTECEM™ V+ Syringe Kit
VERTECEM™ V+ Syringe Kit

The VERTECEMTM V+ Syringe Kit is a set of syringes developed specially for the deployment of PMMA cement1. It contains 8x blue 1mL syringes, 5x white 2mL syringes and 1x one-way stop-cock.

The syringes are sterile packed, ergonomically shaped and mechanically reinforced, targeting high volume vertebroplasty users that want the best possible tactile feedback during cement injection. The use of syringes allows for simultaneous and alternating cement injection, which can be very convenient during multilevel and/or screw augmentation procedures.

The stop-cock constitutes the interface to the VERTECEMTM V+ Cement Kit, allowing for a clean and straight forward mixer-to-syringe cement transfer.

chronOS™ Granules and Preforms System
chronOS™ Granules and Preforms System

chronOS™ Granules and Preforms System are widely used as osteoconductive bone graft substitutes. Perfusion of the highly porous β-tricalcium phosphate material with autologous bone marrow introduces blood cells, growth factors, and osteoprogenitor cells; thus, accelerates and enhances osteointegration.

For easy handling, chronOS preforms are available prepackaged in special Vivify perfusion pouch that allow that allow for simple perfusion with bone marrow aspirate or blood.

Vertebroplasty Needle Kit Biopsy Kit

The Vertebroplasty Needle Kitis used to create a percutaneous access to individual vertebrae, with the purpose of performing a vertebroplasty1. Either intra- or extrapedicular access can be chosen, depending on physician preference, patient-specific variations and vertebral physiology. The needles come in packs of two.

Cement can be injected through the front of the needle or through a side-opening inner cannula. The latter technique permits better and more active control of the cement flow, a feature which Synthes was first to introduce on the market. Through a simple 90° twist this feature can also be used to completely separate the cement in the vertebra from cement still inside the needle.

Other useful features include color coded handles, a wide range of sizes and geometries, and the opportunity to do intraoperative biopsies without the need of a second access2.

DBX™ Material
DBX™ Material

DBX™ Material is an osteoinductive and osteoconductive bone graft substitute composed of demineralised bone matrix (DBM) from human donors in a sodium hyaluronate carrier. DBX Material is completely replaced by new host bone in a time ranging from 4 to 10 months. It features unique handling characteristics, is highly biocompatible due to the physiologic carrier and has a proven record of safety and efficacy based on a standardized manufacturing process.​​​

DBX Material is processed by the Muskuloskeletal Transplant Foundation (MTF) and facilitated through Synthes.

Resorbable fixation of cranial bone in adult and pediatric patients:

  • Strength retention of at least 60% of the initial strength for at least 8 weeks in vitro
  • Stability is provided at least 8 weeks during the critical bone healing phase
  • Complete resorption within approximately 1 year
  • Eliminates secondary surgeries for implant removal

VERTECEM™ V+ Cement Kit
VERTECEM™ V+ Cement Kit

The VERTECEMTM V+ Cement Kit consists of a closed mixing device for the preparation of PMMA-based bone cement, and comes with the polymer powder pre-loaded. A separate glass bottle containing the monomer is supplied in the same package.

The VERTECEMTM V+ bone cement is used to augment cancellous bone in the spine1 and is characterized by an extended application time2, a medium starting viscosity and a generous cement volume (20mL). Apart from 40% ZrO2 it also contains 15% hydroxyapatite.
